Moments ago, the Senate Armed Services
Committee nominated Senator Chuck Hagel by a party-line vote of 14 to 11.
The next stop is a vote before the full Senate, and that could happen as early as tomorrow.
As you can tell by the margin of today's vote, it could be a close one. But there's never been a filibuster of a Defense Secretary in the history of the United States, and hopefully Republicans won't start now.
