PETITION DRIVE TO STOP RED LIGHT CAMERAS IN MAPLE HEIGHTS, OHIO

COAST
brings campaign to ban
Red Light
Cameras to Maple Heights Ohio.
A group of local Maple
Heights residents have teamed up with
COAST (Coalition Opposed to Additional Spending and Taxes) to limit the use of
unmanned photo-monitoring (photo radar/speeding/red light) cameras in Maple Heights.
The
group will be circulating petitions to place a Charter Amendment on the
November ballot. The petition drive
once completed will allow the residents of Maple Heights to vote on a Charter Amendment
limiting the use of unmanned photo-monitoring (photo radar/speeding/red light) cameras in the City of Maple Heights.
The
Maple Heights Charter Amendment proposal is modeled after Garfield Heights and will
effectively ban unmanned red light and speeding cameras from being enforced within
the City of Maple Heights.
The
organizers need your help. if you are a registered voter and reside in
Maple Hts and would like to sign the petition or volunteer to help circulate a petition
to be signed on targeted streets throughout the City of Maple Heights please

Government from putting undue burdens upon its' residents and violating our

WHAT POLITICAL PARTY HAS THE POWER?
I have several questions to ask.
1. What political party controls the Ohio Senate, the Ohio House and the US House of Representatives?
2. What political party (in the above) has the majority to pass legislation and make cuts to programs, cities, etc?
I hope you said the Republican Party
Here's the stats:
Ohio House
Latest voting shares: Republicans 60.6%, Democrats 39.4%
Ohio Senate:
Latest voting shares: Republicans 69.7%, Democrats 30.3%
US House of Representatives
Republicans 233 Democrats 199
You've got some politicians in Maple Hts and other individuals running around pointing fingers at Black Democrats for some of the financial woes in Maple Hts.
Look at the figures (above) and tell me what political party has the power (the voting majority)?
Clearly it's not Democrats [which also means it's not Black Democrats] in the Ohio House, the Ohio Senate or the US House of Representatives.
Why aren't Maple Heights politicians and others asking for help from the politicians [Republicans] who have the power to perhaps do something? Sounds like a good question, ... right? Maybe they did. Don't know .. ask them.

Okay, now that we know what political party has the majority of the votes to perhaps do something to help Maple Heights financial problems, what are the real motives of Maple Heights politicians and others for pointing fingers at Black Democrats in those seats who don't have the majority voting shares? Then you tell me how you feel about those people who pointed the fingers.
For clarity: Maple Heights has far more complex reasons for its financial woes than just some government cuts.

WHEN IS ENOUGH... ENOUGH IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY?
THIS [SEE PICTURE] AND WORSE HAPPENED EVERY DAY IN THE SOUTH NOT THAT LONG AGO
BLACKS HAD NO LEGAL RECOURSE FOR WRONGDOING (TO THEM BY OTHERS) IN THE SOUTH AND ARE STILL DEALING WITH THAT IN THE NORTH AND SOUTH TODAY
BLACK MEN ARE STOPPED AND FRISKED AND SUBJECTED TO EXCESSIVE FORCE EVERY DAY NOW
THERE'S A TRAYVON MARTIN ALMOST EVERY DAY
THERE'S A TIMOTHY RUSSELL AND MALISSA WILLIAMS RIDDLED WITH BULLETS BY POLICE STILL
LAWS ARE IN PLACE AND STILL BEING CRAFTED TO DENY BLACKS VOTING RIGHTS.
BLACKS ARE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST IN HIRING EVERY DAY
WHITE SUPREMACY IS EMBEDDED IN MANY POLICE DEPARTMENTS AND ELSEWHERE IN GOVERNMENT (AT ALL LEVELS)
And yet they say NO REPARATIONS!
And yet they say NO AFFIRMATIVE ACTION!
And yet they say NO AFFIRMATIVE ACTION!
Any yet they say NO TRANSPARENCY IN GOVERNMENT!
And yet they say, that in a predominantly African American community there should be NO BLACKS IN THE FIRE DEPT OR ONLY 2 BLACKS IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT even though these very same people are paid by the predominantly African American community

COMMENT: MAPLE HEIGHTS AFRICAN AMERICAN GAZETTE, MAY 18, 2014
We are
delighted that Councilman Bill Brownlee (District 5) has been successful in
illuminating some of the functions/events in Maple Heights governance with his
videos of council meetings, etc.
This is a huge step in "open government" in Maple
Heights.
Throughout 2012 and 2013 we watched what we consider obstruction to “open government” in Maple Heights.
Throughout 2012 and 2013 we watched what we consider obstruction to “open government” in Maple Heights.
Unfortunately,
this year we also witnessed the shocking and successful attempts by council leadership, to repeatedly
silence Councilman Brownlee. This councilman does not yell, stomp his feet, wave
his hands, or physically attack anyone.
Yet, the council leadership has sought this councilman’s physical
removal from a council meeting (by a member of law enforcement [***]) on more
than one occasion.
Can anyone recall when a councilman/woman
was threatened with being physically removed by a member of the police force unless
he/she stop talking?
Regarding "Music in the Park" series 2012/2013:
Meeting after meeting we've watched various members of Maple Heights city council
and/or people who have backed the mayor, come out in support and praise of the
Director of Human Services.
There is no
denial of the good works that come out of that department. What we do
object to, and that many (especially of European ancestry) fail to grasp, is the (in our opinion) major highlighting
of European culture (which is the director's background) over the culture and background of the majority of the residents who happen to be African American.
Research after research has exposed the systemic design to deny AfricanAmerican culture and history in the United States.
Our residents
are in dire need of money; yet (in our opinion), the “Music in the Park” donations flow to those of predominantly European ancestry and to those who live
outside the city. This was pointed out to
that department (again) last year, and the result was the use of the “N” word in the comment section of a
2012 (Music in the Park) post; followed by council (who were –and still are- predominantly
of European background) contributing to a singer with the same ancestry; and
the series staying pretty much the same.
This arrogance should have sent a chill (and “wake up call”) through the
Maple Heights African American community.
The cancelling (?) of the “Music in the Park” series (this year) which
we’ve been told has always been funded through solicited donations, was seen by us as defiance for our
persistence in asking that department to
highlight the culture/background of the majority in Maple Heights and giving the
majority of those donations to those
entertainment groups who represent the racial/cultural majority and who
actually live in our city. We feel it is and
should have been the responsible and financially sound thing to do.
