Question:

Have some of these protesters been targeted by some Maple Heights police and police friends?

Keep an eye out

[LATEST NEWS, August 4, 2014 ... IN ADDITION TO SPEED CAMERAS ON WARRENSVILLE CENTER RD AND BROADWAY, TRAFFIC COPS HAVE ALSO BEEN SPOTTED ON WARRENSVILLE CENTER RD AND NORTHFIELD RD. ... THE AREAS THAT ARE TARGETED ARE EAST SIDE AND 25 MPH ZONES,... SO JUST DO 25 MPH UNLESS YOU WANT TO GIVE UP YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON A $100 PHOTO RELATED FINE, OR EVEN MORE IF A TRAFFIC COP PULLS YOU OVER FOR SPEEDING]

According to council clerk only 526 (?) signatures are needed, so the fact that there were only 910 signatures instead of 1200 (erroneously reported by channel 19) .... come on, let's move forward.

If safety is the reason for speed cameras, the city of Maple Heights should be able to show that in the locations where the speed cameras are, that location had multiple speed related accidents over the last several years. Therefore, public records should be provided to show the locations of all speed related accidents on Maple Heights public property in the last 2 years.

Also, again .. if safety is the reason for the cameras, revenues generated should only be seen as incentives to make streets safer and must not be placed in the general fund, but a fund that would be used for local projects that would help stimulate the local economy (to make the community more vibrant and diverse).

All these outsiders (people who don't live in Maple, and out of town businesses) have way too much voice (say) in what goes on in Maple Heights.

It is therefore, absolutely necessary to have some sort of independent citizens advisory board so the residents voices can be heard loud and clear.
