2013-2014 Black Male Achievement Social Innovation Accelerator

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS NOW THROUGH FRIDAY, APRIL 5, 2013:

 •Do you have the passion and potential to be a national leader in your work to improve the life outcomes of black men and boys?

 •Do you possess the social entrepreneurial spirit of a Geoff Canada, Bill Strickland, or Van Jones?
If you answered “yes” or know someone who can answer “yes” to the above --- apply now (or nominate someone) to become a part of the Leadership & Sustainability Institute’s 2013-2014 Black Male Achievement Social Innovation Accelerator.

A Black Male Achievement Social Innovator is a leader who has shown tangible results in improving the life outcomes of black men and boys and who has the passion and potential to increase his/her national leadership and impact.

As a BMA Social Innovator, you will have a unique opportunity to join a cohort of fellow leaders to receive one-on-one capacity-building support, be connected and showcased to funders, and become national leaders in the field of black male achievement.

What You Get:


1. Capacity Building, Consulting, and Coaching
Receive more than $150,000 in services (plus a $10,000 travel stipend) over 12 months, including professionally produced and designed materials for funder/investor audiences: •Prospectus
•Roadshow Fundraising Presentation

  2. Connections and Showcase to Funders
BMA Social Innovators will be showcased to funders and leaders at the BMA Social Innovator Showcase event in spring 2014, receive facilitated connections to individual funders, and become part of the LSI’s national network (1,000+ members and growing).

3. Opportunity to Become National Leaders
As part of a unique cohort that is chosen based on its potential for leadership in the field, the BMA Social Innovators will have targeted support and exposure, setting the foundation to becoming national leaders and spokespeople for the field of black male achievement.

How to Apply

Please self-nominate or be nominated via our online nomination form. Assuming the nominee meets all of our eligibility requirements, the organization or program/initiative leader will receive an email with a link to our online application within 48 hours of the time the nomination is received.
