DIVERSITY WEEK CELEBRATION, MARCH 19 -21, 2013

FROM EMAIL:

   DIVERSITY WEEK CELEBRATION

"What started last year as a small college event to educate the community on Diversity in Business, Health & Careers, has expanded to a few more campuses this year. Diversity Week Celebration as it is now known has included topics such as: Diversity; in the Legal profession, in Government, in Media, in Business, in Health, in Education, in Generations, Diversity and Women, and Women Entrepreneurs.

The locations for the celebration this year will be at the Ohio State University Student Union Hall
Great Lakes Meeting Room in Columbus on March 19th – at Lorain County Community College Spitzer Conference Center Grand Room in Elyria on Wednesday March 20th and at Cleveland State University Student Ballroom in Cleveland on Thursday March 21 – all three events start at 8:30am and end at 3pm.

Diversity week offers everyone the chance to network and hear from PHD’s, Attorneys, government and business leaders, who will share their thoughts on the positive impacts of diversity in their fields.

In addition to the thought-provoking speaker panels Diversity Week will feature vendor trade shows, networking opportunities, corporate matchmaking, entertainment and door prizes. The three days of events are free, but the Speaker Panels and Luncheons are $35 a low cost thanks to sponsors such as Rockwell Automation, Lorain National Bank and others. Without sponsors our cost would be around $45 per person at the daytime event and $75 for the Gala. While the price of food, venues and entertainment has gone up we still want to take up a collection for the Esperanza Scholarship Fund, and the Urban League, but still be affordable for folks to come.

To end the week of Celebration, on Saturday March 23rd, the Diversity Chamber will host a Black, Red and White Tie Celebration Gala that will introduce a Celebrity Fashion Show; with various Television Personalities, Live Entertainment, An Elegant Dinner, A Comedian, A D.J., and a Red Carpet Photo Session. Advance Tickets $55- or 2/$100

Diversity Week is hosted by North Coast Minority Media CEO Lou Acosta. Acosta is a member of the Medical Mart & Convention Center's Compliance and Outreach Team, Co-Chair and founder of the Minority Business Assistance Regional Council, the Diversity Chamber and the Business & Benefits Network, he is also a board member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, in addition to several other organizations.

Sponsorships for Diversity Week are still available and include promotional opportunities in the event program magazine; North Coast Diversity Magazine which circulates 5,000 copies on a quarterly basis,  vendor booth space at all the events including the Celebration Gala, listings in local advertisements, event tickets, and more.
